history:

I began making this particular collection of images while engaged to design and oversee the subdivision of a parcel of remote real estate. I found myself in a pristine Canadian alpine valley (complete with river & vistas … but without internet & celfone) thru all 4 seasons of 2007-2008. I took refuge in my camera & computer to separate the hours of the day into work and leisure.

This experimentation, beginning with symmetry, led to a consistent approach to photography & photographic post-production …. an approach of applying contemporary digital tools to record and manipulate images of nature.

Over the years I have privately circulated images to a select few. Now I offer them here for sale to brighten your day.

There are 3 broad categories of images: symmetry (mostly on a vertical axis), sine wave functions, and direct scenes from nature showing varying degrees of digital influence. And some are hybrids of all the above.

Don’t be shy; be honest.

theory:

art is: discovered rather than generated, a calling rather than a livelihood, fleeting rather than permanent, spontaneous rather than contrived
